About

Amy McGinn, an experienced Child and Family Specialist with 30 years of experience and one of Canberra’s pioneers in creating change for separated families in the mediation space.

Amy provides families with a safe, structured and supportive environment to discuss, explore and resolve parenting disputes following separation or divorce including financial and property settlement.

Being a small private and boutique practice you will work closely with Amy and other experienced mediators and lawyers who will walk you through each step of the process with care and compassion, providing you with resources, strategies and expertise to help you and your children manage and cope through this difficult transition.

The mediation service facilitates communication, promotes understanding, assists parties to identify their need and interests, to reach parenting agreements in the separated space whilst ensuring the best interest of the children remain at the forefront.

Our role is to help facilitate difficult discussions and to provide you with a confidential space to make decisions about what is best for you and your family without blame.

Amy is also a Child Consultant which is a clinical practice where she works with children and parents to gain a greater insight into what it feels like for your children as they navigate the change of separation. Trained under Dr Jennifer McIntosh and Dr Lorri Yasenik Amy has now developed her own style in how to support separated families and children create repair and change without conflict.

The counselling service provides a calm and confidential space for you to talk freely about personal issues you may be grappling with. Amy helps name your thoughts in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self awareness. Amy works with Couples, individuals and conducts Family Therapy.

Amy is a registered practitioner through Attorney Generals Dept Australia and ADRA and works under the Family Law Act (1975).
